OPEN dialogues around Dialogues. Autumn 2024

2024 Project OPEN. Kiesler Today.jpg

In Autumn 2024, the Project OPEN participants engaged in deep, participatory conversations through the exhibition “Kiesler Today: Work Dialogues with Contemporary Artists”

These "dialogues about Dialogues" allowed participants to shift from being observers to active co-creators, reflecting on how contemporary artists interconnect with Kiesler’s legacy and finding their own voices for joning them.

OPEN within "Us, You, Me" Environment
in April 2024

project OPEN participants and art and cultural mediator Liudmila Harvey in April 2024 at Frederick Kiesler "Us, You. Me" Environment at Kunsthaus Zug

During these art mediations we delved into the environmetnal sculpture by Frederick Kiesler.

As you enter the "Us, You, Me" Environment, take a moment to observe and reflect.

Find your safe space amidst the surroundings.

Do you wish to create your own shadow or harmonize with the existing ones?

Are you drawn to blending in seamlessly or standing out boldly? Consider how it feels to become part of this interconnected space, where every interaction holds the potential for deeper understanding and connection.

Engaging with artwork on a deeply personal level—connecting emotionally, evoking memories, or embodying experiences—elevates the artwork beyond mere visual. It serves as a catalyst for introspection and dialogue.

participants of project OPEN and art mediator and programm initiator Liudmila Harvey discussing Marcel Duchamp's protrait by Frederick Kiesler

In March, we talked with the project OPEN participants about Frederick Kiesler. This month, we devoted our art mediation sessions to discovering Kiesler as a transdisciplinary artist, theater set/furniture/catalog/gallery designer, exhibition organizer and curator, writer, shop vitrine decorator, and a person with a wide network.

Project OPEN participants recognized star-bright personalities throughout his "Portrait Galaxies", admiring Kiesler for capturing the essence of individuals with just a single feature.
